Technical / Verification & Disclosures

Published reference comparisons. Documented numerical differences.

dhwaniPRO verification compares results from the production calculation engine with published ISO/TR reference situations. The comparisons show how the software behaves for defined acoustic geometries and calculation inputs.

Results are presented as numerical differences rather than a single pass-rate percentage. Verification of software calculations is distinct from field accuracy or certification.

ISO 9613-2:2024

Compared with published ISO/TR 17534-3:2015 reference totals.

0.00 to +0.37 dB(A)

Open-ground result and positive barrier differences respectively. Other case differences are reported below.

CNOSSOS-EU

Compared with published ISO/TR 17534-4:2020 reference totals.

Within 0.02 dB(A)

Open-ground comparison. Other cases, including larger differences, are reported below.

ISO 9613-2:2024 Verification

Comparison with published ISO reference situations.

dhwaniPRO build 11.0.0 implements ISO 9613-2:2024. The published comparison values are from ISO/TR 17534-3:2015, which is based on the earlier ISO 9613-2 edition.

ISO 9613-2 reference situation differences for dhwaniPRO 11.0.0.
Reference Situation Signed Difference, dB(A)
Open ground 0.00
Barrier +0.28 to +0.37
Building -0.16 to 0.00
Several buildings 0.00
Courtyard -0.13

Signed difference = dhwaniPRO build 11.0.0 result minus the published reference A-weighted total. Ranges summarise the corresponding documented situations.

CNOSSOS-EU Verification

Comparison with CNOSSOS-EU reference situations.

The dedicated CNOSSOS-EU calculation pipeline in dhwaniPRO Vector and Delta is checked against published ISO/TR 17534-4:2020 reference cases. The verification process covers 28 documented test cases.

CNOSSOS-EU reference situation differences for dhwaniPRO 11.0.0.
Reference Situation Reported Difference, dB(A)
Open ground Within 0.02
Barrier Within 0.03
Building -0.26 to +0.08
Reflecting barrier +0.12
Barrier and buildings +0.63
Several buildings Within 0.07

Values summarise differences from the published A-weighted reference totals for the documented situations. These six groups are not individual listings of all 28 test cases.

Verification Process

Reference comparisons use the production engine.

Verification examines the calculation implementation through defined reference geometry, propagation terms and reported results.

01 / GEOMETRY

Reproduce the Scene

Published test situations are represented using the project geometry handled by the production calculation engine.

02 / TERMS

Examine Propagation Terms

Ground effect, diffraction, screening and atmospheric terms can be checked against reference values where published.

03 / PATHS

Inspect Path Geometry

Ray paths, inflection nodes and path-length differences are examined against the applicable reference geometry.

04 / COMPARISON

Report Differences

Production-build A-weighted results are compared with published totals, retaining numerical differences.

Interpretation & Limitations

Reference agreement is not a guarantee of field accuracy.

Published reference comparisons provide evidence of software calculation behaviour for defined cases. They do not establish how closely a prediction will match measurements at a particular industrial site or outdoor location.

Software Verification

Compares calculated results with published reference situations using defined geometry and inputs.

Field Validation

Requires appropriate real-world measurements, input data and assessment of site-specific modelling uncertainty.

Certification

Envitrans does not claim formal QSI certification under ISO/TR 17534.

Independent Development

dhwaniPRO is independently developed by Envitrans and is not formally endorsed by ISO or the European Commission.
